New York City Mayor Bloomberg's deputy mayor quit recently, and the mayor didn't mention anything about the real reason for it: the deputy had been arrested for domestic violence. And now that the news has leaked out, the Mayor is unrepentant, basically saying it was none of the public's business. None of the public's business that the deputy mayor's been arrested? Really? How is an elected official getting arrested NOT a matter for the public to know? (New York Times)
