The Joy Of Family
-
A woman and her adult son have been charged with reckless homicide, bank fraud, hiding a corpse and recklessly subjecting an individual at risk to abuse. What precipitated that? Well, the woman's sister, then 70, fell to the floor and laid there for two days until she died. And while she lay there occasionally talking and asking for help, the woman and her son ignored her, told her to shut up, and went out for pizza, then, when she died, they hid her body in the basement and took money from her account (to which Social Security and pension payments were being automatically deposited). What's REALLY weird is that the dead woman had social workers watching her case and a guardian assigned to her, but they didn't check on her for months. Where were they? (Wisconsin State Journal)
