In Case You Didn't Know How Important Football (And Money) Are To Colleges
-
The ACC made it official and welcomed Pittsburgh and Syracuse, and the Big East has a big problem. The question is whether these super-conferences are a good thing for college sports in general or will create a smaller group of super-schools and relegate schools that are strong in basketball but not football to oblivion; and if you're, say, Connecticut and you DIDN'T get the invite, where do you go? And should Congress, as threatened, get involved? (New York Times)
