Disposable TVs

You get what you pay for, maybe, if Vizio's attitude is any indication. The low-price flat-panel TV company says that if your TV set is older than 12 months, the duration of its warranty, they won't repair it when it breaks, that you're better off buying a new one. So if a 13-month-old TV set dies, you should go and buy one new. Maybe that makes economic sense on their part if the repair costs about the same as a new set, but it sends a bad message about the brand's reliability. (MSNBC)
