It's Tough For Everyone, Kid. The Line Starts Way Back There
-
Young college graduates are complaining that they can't get a job and that it's because the deck is stacked against them somehow. They think that it's because they don't have the experience employers are "unfairly" requiring, and they can't GET that experience. But things are, as you know, tough all over. And when the main whiner is a kid who got economics and journalism degrees and now blames, effectively, capitalism for his inability to get a job and move out of his parents' house, it's kinda embarrassing. A journalism degree isn't worth anything in 2011. (Philadelphia Inquirer; Thanks to Jeff Katz at WXKS (Talk 1200)/Boston for the link)
