Although Enough Beer WILL Help You Forget What You're Eating

You know, I assume, that restaurants make a LOT of money on drinks. But some chain restaurants which have added alcohol to their offerings in recent years are finding that it might not be worth the trouble. We're talking about places like Burger King and Sonic, and I think that their problems come from the fact that most people don't even EXPECT alcohol to be served there. You don't go to BK -- even the fancy BK Burger Bar -- to drink, or thinking that you'll have a beer or a glass of wine with it. You go to BK for a quick bite, not lingering over a glass. And Sonic? Really? Is it a good idea to serve someone alcohol at a drive-in? (New York Times)
