Transmitting The Data Probably Cost The Carrier About $10
-
By now, you've probably seen the story that originated at the Fox affiliate in Miami, the one where a woman was charged $201,000 for one month of cell phone service. Her brothers, who are deaf, went to Canada, and, for some reason, ignored the text that warned them that they were running up big charges for international use. This goes along with the story that we had the other day about "bill shock." But whose responsibility is it to figure out how much things are going to cost you before you do them? It should be fairly obvious that if you leave the country, you're going to wind up paying more for your calls and your data. She's lucky that her carrier is reducing the charges to something more manageable, but, still, that's common sense. (WSVN-TV/Miami; Thanks to Dave Elliott at WGUF/Naples-Ft. Myers for the link)
