Now that the cops are using tear gas on Occupy protestors in Oakland and the cops are starting to get tough in other cities, the question is how far the cops should be going against citizens whose crimes are, essentially, loitering, public defecation, and disturbing the peace. Is that tear-gas-worthy? If it isn't, how should the cops break things up? Should they break it up at all? And if they DON'T break it up, what's the end game -- what will get the protestors to go home? (CNN)
