Because Despots Don't Get Too Much Fan Mail

The headline says that this guy, an elderly guy in Brooklyn, is the man who "wrote to Gadhafi," but that's misleading. In reality, he wrote to everyone. He wrote letters to practically every famous person, from presidents to dictators, and ended up getting letters back from a lot of them. It turns out that even dictators do respond. And that's how he ended up getting Christmas cards from Gadhafi. It's an interesting hobby, and it may be a lost art, since people don't write letters anymore. (CNN)
