Can You Hear Me Now? No? It's Not Your Cell Carrier's Fault
-
A new national study, the first of its kind, says that nearly one in five Americans has significant hearing loss, the kind that makes it hard to hear what other people are saying. The experts call this "jaw-dropping." They think that the reason previous studies didn't really show too much hearing loss is that as people get older, and their hearing goes, it's gradual enough so that they don't really notice and they learn to live with it. I wonder if radio people are worse off in this regard, because so many crank the volume in their headphones and go out and listen to loud music every night. That can't be good for your hearing.
