Dead: Ken Russell, the director who, once upon a time, was famous for making way, way over-the-top and often weird movies, including "Lisztomania" with Roger Daltrey and the movie version of The Who's "Tommy." Nudity, orgies, dancing, general grotesquery... he kind of just threw whatever came to mind onto the screen. His big hit was "Women in Love," which got him an Oscar nomination, but his name became synonymous with cinematic excess. (BBC)
