As part of National Handwashing Awareness Week, they're telling us that one of the most potent carriers of germs in hospitals is paper. But that's just one aspect of how paper is a germophobe's nightmare. You know that paper money is just coated with everything from fecal bacteria to cocaine residue, but what this study notes is that germs -- including E.coli and staph -- survive a long time, like three days or even a week, on paper.
