Emergencies Bring Out The Best In Everyone. Some People's Best Isn't Very Good
-
A couple of the people in charge of warning students during the Virginia Tech massacre instead warned their own families 90 minutes before telling anyone else what was going on. They could have saved more lives if they'd acted faster and not taken care of just their families first. And the local cops took a half-hour longer than originally thought to go looking for the suspect. There were a lot of failures in this case. In fairness, though, who would have expected something like this to happen?
