The disgraced founder of the Parmalat dairy empire had a stash of original Van Goghs, Picassos, Cezannes, and Monets in his attic. He was hiding the art from the tax police in Italy, who were going after his assets after the company collapsed and he was convicted of market-rigging and covering up losses; the artwork is worth about $150 million. He was planning to sell the stuff in secret. I'm guessing that a lot of rich corporate crooks do this kind of thing all the time.
