The state legislature in Minnesota is voting this week on repeal of a provision in the state constitution that allows lawmakers immunity from drunk driving charges. How did that get in there in the first place? It's part of a general "privilege from arrest" that they included in the 1800s to prevent retribution for their political acts. But I doubt the state Founding Fathers really intended that they could get away with anything, let alone drunk driving (which didn't exist at the time). (Fox News)
