Put Down The Spray Paint Can And All This Would Have Gone Away
-
How much should a school punish a kid for a prank? In this case, the senior class president was one of several students who indulged in a tradition of spray-painting stuff on the road by the school, but he says he left before some of the revelers moved on to tag cars and buildings, causing $7,500 in damage. He appealed his punishment, and it was denied. So not only was he suspended for the rest of his final year and sent to an "alternative school," they added more punishment: he's been banned from his own graduation ceremony. The additional punishment was added after the board denied his appeal. Is he being punished extra because he appealed? On the other hand, is this his own fault for doing something he knew was against the rules, even if it's true that he personally didn't tag anything but the road? (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
