A Few Brews And A Few Frames. Doesn't Get Much Better Than That

The end has come for Serra Bowl, a landmark bowling alley near San Francisco. It's closing after 51 years. You know, what's interesting is that it's NOT closing because it's failing -- it was still popular and profitable. It's a landlord thing -- the lease wasn't renewed. And that reminds me that bowling seems to be hanging on while other classic 50s-60s things like the drive-in didn't. You don't see a lot of bowling on network TV, and the PBA isn't as big as it once was, but it's still there and may always be around. What is it about bowling that has it hanging in and occasionally being trendy (like at those Lucky Strike Lanes places)?
