British insurer Aviva has been having some troubles lately, including a $1.6 billion loss on the sale of its U.S. operations, but nobody expected them to fire all 1,300 employees of its asset management division in London. A terse email to all the employees gave them the bad news. One small thing: It was a mistake. They only wanted to fire one employee by a cold email, and someone accidentally sent it to the entire staff. Imagine the morale there. (Daily Telegraph)
