Senate Agrees To Something Or Other
-
The Senate Democrats reach a deal on a health care bill that doesn't include a public option. Sort of, maybe, possibly. Nobody's sure WHAT'S in it. This is because nobody's read the thing. There might be a private non-profit co-op option. There might be an option for people over 55 to buy into Medicare. Hard to tell. Meanwhile, the bill's collecting a ton of hidden provisions covering such essentials as calorie listings on chain restaurant menus, work breaks for breastfeeding mothers, coverage of midwives, and more. Again, nobody's reading the whole thing, so the lawmakers figure it's a great time to slip pet projects past everyone. Thanks to Dave Elliott at WGUF/Naples-Ft. Myers for the link.
