Gopher And Doc Have Something To Hide

How safe is it on a cruise ship? You may never know: The law allows cruise lines to shields information about crimes committed on cruises. Assaults, thefts, even missing person reports are all off-limits. Why? Well, a bill to make the carriers MORE responsive was written by John Kerry and Doris Matsui, and it was considered good by activists trying to get the cruise lines to be more open, but Kerry's office admits that before the law was passed, they changed the wording at the behest of the Coast Guard and FBI. That was because the agencies said that allowing people to know about crime on board might impact investigations. Really? Now, all cases have to be reported to the FBI, and only cases the agency passes on will be made public. This doesn't seem right. (USA Today)
