Changing Nobody's Mind

Obama's late Friday announcement of the semi-amnesty for young illegal immigrants was a typical late Friday move, something thrown out there at a time when they knew there wasn't going to be a lot of reaction for the next 36 hours or so. And while some pundits, like those in the New York Times, seem to think that this puts Romney on the defensive, it could also hand the Republicans a major talking point for the rest of the campaign. You wonder if the president's polls indicated that he was that deeply in trouble with the Hispanic vote, because otherwise it doesn't seem like this was something that was all that necessary for him to do at this time.
