Life, The Universe, And Everything (Apparently, It's Not 42)

In case you don't really know what it is, here's an explanation of the Higgs boson, which scientists say they've pretty much discovered, give or take. In my capacity as editor of Nerdist.com, I'll just say it's, well, see, you go down to the smallest particles, and they'd just careen around forming nothing if something didn't give them mass. The Higgs boson -- PLEASE don't call it the "God Particle" -- is the particle that bonds with those other particles and gives them mass, so they can form... everything. I mean, everything, including you. It's one of the secrets of the universe. So, yeah, it's a big deal. (New York Times)
