Lay's potato chips are/is running a social media campaign to crowdsource a potato chip flavor. Someone will win $1 million or 1% of the new flavor's net sales for 2013, whichever the winner wants. This follows Samuel Adams crowdsourcing a beer flavor and Arizona Iced Tea did the same for an iced tea flavor. That's one way to save R&D costs. (USA Today)
