This article posits that funny insurance ads don't work, because the "big" companies are backing off humor in their ads. But they note that Geico and Progressive have become major players BECAUSE of humorous commercials. And what they DON'T mention is that for a humorous commercial to work, IT HAS TO BE FUNNY. Did anyone, anywhere think that those Nationwide commercials with the creepy interviewer were funny at all? (USA Today)
