Who Needs Competition? Actually, We Do
-
Boy, I thought this Justice Department would be against mergers and consolidation of business, but they're no different from the Republicans: The DOJ approved the Verizon deal with cable companies which amounts to Verizon pulling way, way back on developing FiOS and wired broadband via fiber in exchange for being able to buy more wireless data bandwidth. It's really preservation of cable's wired broadband monopolies. And the feds are letting it happen, even though the single operators in each area added to the insurmountable hurdles to new entrants means your cable and Internet bills will go up and up and up.
