The Notre Dame student accused of murdering his father had once, according to his brother's testimony, said he heard voices in his head, although it was one mention years ago. Still, it raises the issue of how to handle the mentally ill when they do horrible things. Is it them or the "voices"? Is "not guilty by reason of insanity" enough when the crime is murder?
