Top That, Amy Pond

At my other job (plug: Nerdist.com- bookmark it!), our coverage of pop culture includes all the kind of stuff you'd expect those of us who admit to (or revel in) being nerds would like, but as far as television is concerned, none are paramount to Doctor Who. (OK, Trek is up there, and maybe BSG and a few others, but, really, we're all Whovians at heart) And you might be aware that not only does the lead character (the Doctor, whose name is not precisely "Doctor Who") change appearance (and actors) every few years, but he has different "companions" from time to time, sidekicks, usually from present-day Britain, who accompany him on his time-traveling adventures. All of this is to note for the record that the actress scheduled to take over as the new companion later this year (on the Christmas special), Jenna-Louise Coleman, just did a topless scene in a BBC4 adaptation of "Room at the Top" that just ran, and all the Whovians will... well, their heads will explode. If they don't, and they missed the show, there's a still at the link, and I imagine BitTorrent will be working overtime as word gets out. Which is a long way around to this topic, probably best for guy-talk-type shows: Which actresses do you want to see go topless? Yes, it's sexist, but, well, guys are guys. (Do I have to choose between Christina Hendricks and Kat Dennings?) (The Sun)
