You have to go deep into this article about how nobody's riding this commuter train in the Seattle area to find out how much money taxpayers are having to pump into propping the line up -- it's a lot, including $368 million for track upgrades and station construction and $29 per passenger trip in subsidies because not enough people are riding it. This is how most of these train lines are going. And the costs keep rising, and states and cities keep building the trains, and it's just futile, because the public doesn't understand that this should lead to drumming the politicians and bureaucrats behind these boondoggles out of office.
