How would YOU like it if a house on your street was suddenly being used for "open houses" that were really massive parties in disguise? That's what the neighbors say is happening at one Santa Monica house, a mansion that's been retrofitted with musical stuff and is being marketed for $20 million; the "open houses" and charitable events involve late hours, loud music, searchlights, catering trucks, traffic, the whole thing. And the owners insist they're following the precise letter of the law, and they're probably right. That's why the neighbors and the Mayor are looking to pass a new ordinance to change that.
