Huh: A study of nitrous oxide emissions near refineries shows that levels of the chemical, which is released as a by-product of the gas refining process, were normal during times that the refineries were supposed to be offline (thus pushing prices up). The inference is that the plants were producing gas when they said they weren't, and it raises the question of whether that was done to artificially send prices through the stratosphere. The gas producers say that's a conspiracy theory, and the group doing the research says that the nitrous is only produced when gas is being refined, so... is there anything here?
