An Ice-Cold Schlitz Would Hit The Spot Right About Now

Here's an interesting link from 24/7 Wall Street (Home of the Lists With Which Everyone Disagrees), a list of the nine beers Americans no longer drink. It's measured by number of barrels they've declined by over the last five years. Biggest loser: Michelob. I think Michelob was the first beer I ever drank, actually. But it might also be the last Michelob I ever drank. And there's a mitigating circumstance: Michelob Ultra -- the low carb version -- has been so successful that Anheuser Busch-InBev doesn't bother marketing Michelob or Michelob Light all that much. Weirdly, the equivalent low-carb Budweiser isn't selling well. Others on the list include Milwaukee's Best and Old Milwaukee, and I imagine that it's because, well, if you're going to drink that, why bother drinking beer at all? I'd rather talk about the beers of old, like Rheingold, Schmidt's, Hamm's, Ortlieb's, Ballantine, National Boh...
