I Say It's Pasta, And I Say To Hell With The Law
-
What happens when the government establishes an "official language"? Look at Quebec, where the French "language cops" are cracking down on prominent Montreal Italian restaurant Buonanotte because there's too much Italian on the menu, like "pasta" or "calimari." This is not a joke. And a fish and chips place was told to change its menu listing for its signature offering to "poisson frit et frites." And somewhere in Quebec, there's a bureaucrat who sees nothing insane about this. (Canadian Press via Toronto Star)
