Amanda Knox will be retried by the Italian court, because the Italian Supreme Court wants it and because the idea of "double jeopardy" is alien to the Italian system. But it's pointless, not only because the prosecutors clearly have no case but because she doesn't have to go back there to stand trial and the U.S. doesn't have to allow her to be extradited. In the meantime, the prosecutors botched the DNA tests, never found a murder weapon, got the time of the killing wrong, and couldn't prove that Knox and her co-defendant were at the murder scene or that they had any motive for helping the third person, who was convicted, to kill Meredith Kercher. Other than that, they have a case. (NBC News)
