Consumer Reports says that over half of the ground turkey samples they tested had fecal bacteria in them. They tested 257 samples purchased that grocery stores in 21 states and found nine out of 10 with at least one of five toxic fecal bacteria strains. The reason is that when they slaughter turkey, there's feces in the turkey's guts and it gets mixed up with the meat. So, ew. (Albany Times Union via San Francisco Chronicle)
