In A Stew, Who Can Tell The Difference?

Horse meat in beef? Ha! China raises with this new scandal, rat, fox, and mink meat sold as lamb. They allegedly took the uninspected rodent meat, doused it in gelatin, red food coloring, and nitrates, and sold it as mutton. Question: Isn't that a LOT to go through to fake it? Seriously, by the time you assemble enough rat meat to make lamb meat, wouldn't it be just as cheap and easy -- maybe cheaper and easier -- to use an actual lamb? (New York Times)
