What, it was a couple of days ago that I made a remark about how "Happy Birthday to You" isn't in the public domain? A movie company is suing to invalidate the copyright and make it public domain, claiming that the copyright expired by 1921. THe publishing company makes over $2 million a year in licensing the song, but, really, the thing's 120 years old. Copyrights aren't supposed to be eternal. (New York Post)
