Love Him Or Loathe Him, He Was Our Guy

Donovan McNabb officially retired as an Eagle, and, yes, you'd assume he'd been retired for over a year, what with the radio show and not playing and not being on anyone's roster and all, but there it is. And, across the street on August 1st, Brad Lidge will do the one-day-contract thing and retire as a Phillie. That raises the topic: Does it really matter where a guy officially retires? McNabb played in Minnesota and Washington, but everyone remembers him as an Eagle, whether or not he officially retired as one. Lidge is a stranger deal -- his big season was in Philly, but you could argue that he was as well known as an Astro. Does it matter where you retire? (KYW-TV/Philadelphia; Phillies.com)
