Somewhere In Pawnee, Indiana, A City Manager Weeps

I'm just going to borrow this from Bill Doyle of New Jersey 101.5 (hi, Bill!) and ask you for your reaction to the redefinition of the word "literally" as, um, not literal. Here's the second acceptable definition in the major dictionaries: "Used to acknowledge something is not literally true but used for emphasis or to express strong feeling." In other words, NOT LITERAL. Which means that the misuse of the word has become acceptable. Up is down. Idiocy is intelligence. We are doomed. (WKXW (New Jersey 101.5)/Trenton)
