How much love is the Tesla Model S getting? You've seen the Consumer Reports raves, and the car magazines' rapture, and if you've gone and seen one -- I have -- you want one, even if you'd never be able to afford it -- I can't. Now comes the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to tell us that the car got better than perfect scores in crash tests. Better than perfect? How does that happen? Turns out that not having a gas engine block allows for a much larger crumple zone, and that makes it safer than practically any other car. It even broke one of the testing machines, which is both amazing and funny. Too bad, again, it costs so damn much. (ABC News)
