Over the weekend, the Federal Highway Administration's numbers showing miles driven by Americans peaked in 2007 and have declined since got some folks wondering if the age of the automobile is over. They say that it's a shock, because with the recovery, the number should be up. But couldn't that also mean that the recovery isn't, for a lot of people, really much of a recovery at all? We've replaced good-paying full-time jobs with lower-pay part-time jobs -- can you expect people to just pick up their old habits under these circumstances? (AP via Dayton Daily News)
