Nobody Pays Attention Anymore

Whatever you think about John McCain getting caught playing poker on his iPhone during a hearing on Syria, you have to admit that YOU'VE DONE SOMETHING LIKE THAT, TOO. You've played a game or took a peek at Twitter or otherwise goofed off during an important occasion. You have. I admit that I would always sit in the back row of my law school classes with the comics section of that morning's Philadelphia Inquirer folded over into quarters so the crossword puzzle was on one side and the acrostic puzzle, Jumble, and Wonderword were on the other and the professor couldn't see it. Which explains my GPA, but still. And meanwhile, in London, they say that over 300,000 attempts to view Internet pr0n were made from the Houses of Parliament in the past year. I'm sure it was for research purposes. That the British government is seeking to have ISPs block pr0n unless requested, well, that's do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do time again. (AP via WFLA-TV/Tampa; BBC)
