Scissors Mishaps Are Rarely Fatal

Everything You Know Is Wrong: It's a common perception that left-handers die younger than right-handers. There's even a study saying so. Problem: It's not true. The study in question failed to take into account the number of living lefties -- it didn't include the fact that there are simply more left-handers in the population, and the methodology- asking people if their deceased loved ones were right-handers or left-handers- was flawed. There was also the fact that the study didn't take into account the people who might have been forced to write and do things right-handed during a period when that was the custom. There IS evidence that lefties get more minor injuries, because tools and other items are made for righties, but it's insignificant. (BBC)
