The City That Hate Visited, Did Some Business, And Left
-
As the 50th anniversary of a dark day approaches, I know there were reports that people, after JFK got shot, blamed Dallas. I just don't understand the thought process behind blaming the place for the act. The killer -- no matter which explanation you believe, Oswald or conspiracy -- was from someplace else. The lack of security was typical of the time. The anti-Kennedy right-wing cranks in town were a distinct minority, loud but with few followers, and the killer was a leftist (or, again, a CIA conspiracy, if you go with the alternate theories). The crowds were practically all cheering the motorcade. So... why the "City of Hate" thing? (AP via ABC News)
