As California Goes....
-
With all the infighting among Republicans over Chris Christie vs. Ted Cruz and RINO vs. Tea Party, maybe they should stop squabbling and look at California, where they've become completely irrelevant and powerless because of rapid demographic changes -- the Latino (and Asian, and other minority) population has grown, the white population's down, and the electorate's getting younger. The GOP has failed to appeal to what has become the majority. And while California is ahead of the rest of the country in those shifts, many other areas are progressing in that direction. Does this mean that conservative ideological purity will doom the GOP to permanent secondary status? Or can a form of conservatism be sold to the new generations? (Los Angeles Times)
