This'll Hurt Their Chances At Turning Pro
-
The girls' field hockey team at Gwynedd Valley High School near Philly has learned, I think, a valuable lesson: life is unfair. Seems that a referees' mistake let too much time off the clock, seven minutes, to be exact, and because of that, they didn't have time to come back and tie the game, thus falling short of making the state championships. Well, first, kids, you don't know you would have won, anyway. Second, winning the state championship is a so-what thing in the real world. And, third, I feel for you, really, you were robbed, but it's better that you know how life works now than be under the delusion that things always go the way they should. (WPVI-TV/Philadelphia)
