Maybe They Need Some Downtime By The Pool To Think About It
-
Remember the shutdown? That eventually ended, but we're coming to the end of the year with several major issues unsettled and unlikely to be voted upon before recess. Unemployment? Farm bill? Food stamps? Budget issues? Nope, can't be settled, so Congress and the Senate are going to just punt and go off for their holidays. The problem is this: We should have it so they can't recess until all open matters have been settled, but the people who'd need to make that change are the people who'd be affected, and they won't do it. So this is the new normal. (Los Angeles Times)
