Oh, great: Scientists at Stanford and MIT say that the next "Big One" earthquake to hit L.A. will hit a lot harder than previously thought, because if it happens on the San Andreas Fault out in the desert, it'll be amplified as the shaking rolls up the 10 freeway and will shake harder and longer than ever. Needless to say, as someone whose house happens to be in the front of one of the pictures used to illustrate the area in the line of fire, this does not please me, even though, let's face it, I know it's what we have to live with.
