Because this is California, of COURSE a politician is proposing putting warning labels on soda like the ones on cigarette packs. He'd even put it on soda fountains. But is this, as he says, "consumer protection" or really just pointless? People know that sugary drinks aren't diet food, and they've been hammered with diabetes warnings for ages. Is a dire label necessary or grandstanding? (Los Angeles Times)
