Maybe We Should Be Way Beyond Numbers As IDs By Now Anyway
-
A health care company sent out one of those mass-mailed "magazines" you chuck right into the recycle bin, but maybe after this you won't throw those things out so cavalierly: They accidentally printed recipients' Medicare and Social Security numbers on the back covers on 50,000 copies sent to Arizona residents. Yet again, we see a company making an inexcusable error with people's personal information. And there's no penalty, no adequate punishment. Are we going to have to see CEOs go to jail before they start to take information security seriously? (KTVK/Phoenix)
