Have you seen this electric vehicle? It's an enclosed cab, can go the equivalent of 1,800 miles per gallon, and costs five grand. Ideal? Well, not quite: It'll only get 14 miles on electricity, and you have to pedal to get anything more. Yes, you read it right, you have to pedal. And it only goes 30 mph tops. But, you know, if I only had to go around the neighborhood, and if I didn't think this thing would be blown right off the road by passing traffic, and if I didn't have to drive up and down a steep small mountain every day, I would consider it.
